SCHOOL REPORT

Annual Report

The 2004 – 2005 school year witnessed a steady increase in enrollment. Starting enrollment in September 2004 was twenty-two full time students and ended in June of 2005 with thirty-three students in attendance. The districts of Hartford and Manchester have sent the greatest percentage of students.

The School and Staff continue a comprehensive educational and therapeutic program with even greater emphasis on seeking the most appropriate and innovative instructional methodologies. The school philosophy was modified to increase our focus on academic achievement:  with the goal that students will be better prepared, academically, to reintegrate into mainstream classes upon return to their home school. During the school year three students were included in regular education programs in their local district school, in conjunction with CCGC School.

New staff was added throughout the year to maintain our high expectation for student success by maintaining the most effective staff to student ratio.

Teachers and Para-educators continue to receive professional staff development to remain concurrent with educational and behavioral trends. Local resources are used throughout the school year and the summer program that include the Manchester Recreational Department, the local library and local businesses.

At midyear ground was broken to expand the clinic and provide more opportunities for children and their families. As part of the expansion, the School will have an indoor, multipurpose area that can be used in a variety of ways to enhance our services to children.

As the Education Coordinator of  The Community Child Guidance Clinic School, it is my privilege to work with a dedicated group of professionals who maintain the focus and determination to provide the positive educational experience to special needs children.
