VOCA Victims of Crime Assistance
Program The Victims of Crime Assistance Program is a federally funded project through the Office of Victim Services of the Connecticut Judicial Branch. The Program is designed to provide support to children and families who have been victimized by violent crimes such as physical and sexual abuse, domestic violence, homicides, robberies, assaults and motor vehicle crimes.
Services Service provided by the VOCA Program include crisis counseling, follow up, therapy, group treatment, information and referral, and advocacy. Both in-home and office based interventions are provided by a bi-lingual/bi-cultural social worker.
In addition, a full range of Clinic diagnostic and treatment services are available to children and their families who are involved in the Program.
Eligibility Children through age 18 and their families who are residents of the Clinic's fourteen town catchment area and who are victims of violence are eligible to participate in the VOCA Program. The towns served are: Andover, Bolton, Columbia, Coventry, East Hartford, Ellington, Glastonbury, Hebron, Manchester, Marlborough, South Windsor, Stafford Springs-Stafford, Tolland, Vernon-Rockville.
Referrals Referrals to the VOCA Program may be made by the courts, Police Departments, or other agencies and professionals involved with victims and their families. Families may apply for services directly by calling the Clinic at (860) 643-2101.
Service Costs There is no charge to families for any of the services provided by the VOCA social worker.
Costs for additional services provided by other Clinic staff may be covered by insurance, Medicaid, or fees geared to the family's income.
Clinic Hours The Clinic is open daily from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and from 9:00 AM until 8:00 PM on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
